LIFE THERM Flat Aquarium Heater FAQs

The Life Thermal Flat Aquarium Heater is designed so that it constantly produces a set amount of heat into the aquarium, it is not thermostatically controlled so the room and water temperature have to be closely monitored during the warmer seasonal periods.

Use an aquarium thermometer to monitor the water temperature.

During the summer season, or if the room temperature reaches or exceeds 75ºF (24ºC), unplug the heater until normal temperature resumes. 

If the heater has been working for more than 24 hours and the water temperature is more or less than 2 degrees of the set temperature, check that:

1. The thermometer reading is accurate
2. The power has been switched on
3. The temperature has been set correctly
4. The water surface is above the water level mark
5. The heater is correct for the aquarium size
6. The water is circulating well – do not place the heater directly under the filter’s spillway; if unavoidable, slow down the flow.
